Nephew of former NHL’er Radek Bonk. Drafted in the NHL by Los Angeles Kings in 2013.
While playing for the Los Angeles Kings organization in 2015 he was arrested with second degree assault charges in a domestic violence case against his then girlfriend.
Goaltender with game-stealing athleticism combined with reading the plays well.
Average-sized goaltender playing bigger than his size. Difficult to beat when focused.
Slowed down by a shoulder injury while playing as a junior.
Became a father during the night after his first world championship game.
Found drunk and under the influence of drugs in his car six months later. He had suicidal thoughts and called emergency services.
He was sectioned in a psychiatric hospital and his club Trinec broke his contract on November 15, 2019.
He signed in Sweden (MODO) two months later and continued his career in Finland and Russia.
In June 2022 his father Dušan Bartošak reported to the police after he was grabbed by the throat and slammed to the door by his son because he had blamed him for not paying enough attention to his wife and two children.
Reached 2023 Liiga final with Pelicans Lahti before his career too another bad turn: he was released from Hradec Králové in November 2023 after a no-show on a game day and his contract in Spišská Nová Ves next February was cancelled after four days because he refused to have the compulsory medical examination.

Neveu de l'ancien joueur de NHL Radek Bonk. Drafté en NHL par les Los Angeles Kings en 2013.
Quand il jouait dans l'organisation des Kings en 2015, il a été accusé de violence domestique contre sa petite amie de l'époque.
Gardien athlétique capable de voler un match et lisant bien le jeu.
Gardien de taille moyenne (1m85) dont le jeu dépasse le gabarit. Difficile à battre quand il est concentré.
Ralenti par une blessure à l'épaule quand il était junior.
Papa de son premier enfant dans la nuit qui a suivi son premier match en championnat du monde.
Retrouvé ivre et drogué dans sa voiture six mois plus tard alors qu'il avait appelé les services d'urgence avec des pensées suicidaires.
Il fut alors interné dans un hôpital psychiatrique et son club Trinec rompit son contrat le 15 novembre 2019.
Il retrouva un contrat en Suède (MODO) fin janvier 2020 et put ensuite continuer sa carrière en Finlande et en Russie.
En juin 2022 son père Dušan Bartošak porta plainte à la police après avoir subi une agression avec incapacité de travail. Il avait pris par la gorge, traîné dans le couloir et balancé contre la porte de son voisin après avoir reproché à son fils Patrik de manquer d'attention pour sa femme et ses deux enfants.
Il atteint la finale 2023 de Liiga avec les Pelicans de Lahti, puis sa carrière tourne à l'aigre : il est viré de Hradec Králové en novembre 2023 pour absence à l'entraînement puis en match, et son contrat à Spišská Nová Ves est résilié au bout de quatre jours en février parce qu'il a refusé de passer la visite médicale.
