Bocharov started playing hockey at the Maryino Children's and Youth Sports School at the age of 4. When he was 10 years old he moved to the Sports School of Dynamo.
In the 2016/17 season, Bocharov backstopped Dynamo’s farm club (Balashikha) to a VHL championship and was named as the most valuable player in the playoffs.
Bocharovs debut in the KHL with Dynamo Moscow came on August 25, 2017 vs CSKA, replacing his tutor and mentor, Aleksandr Eryomenko.
Bocharov made his national team debut on April 7, 2018 against the German national team.

Bocharov a commencé le hockey à l'école sportive de Maryino à 4 ans et a intégré le Dynamo Moscou à 10 ans.
En 2016/17, il a conduit l'équipe-ferme du Dynamo (établie à Balashikha) à un titre de VHL en étant élu meilleur joueur des play-offs.
Il a débuté en KHL avec le Dynamo Moscou le 25 août 2017 contre le CSKA, remplaçant son tuteur et mentor Aleksandr Eryomenko.
Bocharov a fait ses débuts en équipe nationale le 7 avril 2018 contre l'Allemagne.
Toujours en bonne forme physique, il prête une attention particulière à sa nutrition.
