Gritty, skillful and driven player.
Admired allround centre Brian Trottier and his tough play in the corners.
He came to Durham as a mi-season replacement in 1987/88 and became champion on a line along Ian Cooper and Paul Smith.
Won seven league titles in Great Britain.
Scored an astonishing 3014 (1264+1750) career points in 1137 games. Retired in 2004.
Went on to coach in hockey. Inducted into the British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
