Son of Peter Draisaitl. His agent Jiri Poner was his father's linemate and wedding witness.
A playmaking center who as a junior wasn’t overly physical but used his size effectively to shield himself and the puck. Was mature beyond his years as a junior.
Excellent instincts and on-ice vision. Soft hands and a steady stride.
Best scorer during the NHL season 2019/20, he got the two MVP trophies (Hart and Lindsay).
Second individual sportsman from a team sport elected "German athlete of the year" in 2020, after NBA final MVP Dirk Nowitzki in 2011 (football players have always been elected in the "team of the year" vote).
NHL players voted him the league's best passer in 2022 and 2023 polls.

Fils de Peter Draisaitl. Il a pris comme agent Jiri Poner, ancien compagnon de ligne et témoin de mariage de son père.
Ce centre créatif n'était pas extrêmement physique en junior mais utilisait sa taille efficacement pour se protéger et protéger son palet. Très mature pour son âge en junior.
Excellents instincts et excellente compréhension du jeu. Mains habiles et patinage rapide.
Meilleur marqueur de la NHL en 2019/20, il reçoit les deux trophées de meilleur joueur (Hart et Lindsay).
Second joueur individuel d'un sport collectif à être élu "sportif allemand de l'année" en 2020, après le joueur de basketball Dirk Nowitzki quand il avait été champion et MVP de la finale NBA en 2011 (les footballeurs ont toujours été élus dans la catégorie "équipe de l'année" et non individuellement).
Les joueurs de NHL l'ont désigné comme le meilleur passeur de la ligue dans des sondages de 2022 et 2023.
