Talented defenseman who was drafted first overall in the NHL draft 1992.
His older brother Martin played only three games with national team but was chosen as Czech Extraliga best defenceman twice.
He grew up idolizing Ray Bourque (and was paired with him during NHL All-Star Game 1996).
Fine puck moving and mobile defenseman with a good hockey sense. Could play physical when needed.
Had torn ACL and MCL in his first game in World championships.
Avid heavy metal fan who attended concerts from Van Halen, Metallica ou Queensryche.
His fondest memories according to him was to play for the Montreal Canadiens. Announced his retirement on October 21, 2013.

Défenseur mobile qui fait bien vivre le palet avec un bon sens du jeu. Il pouvait jouer physique quand c'était nécessaire.
Victime d'une déchirure des ligaments du genou à son premier match de championnat du monde.
Grand amateur de musique et particulièrement de heavy metal, qui assistait régulièrement aux concerts de Van Halen, Metallica ou Queensryche.
