Offensively minded defenseman with big league size and physique. Strong along the boards and not afraid to dish out heavy hits.
Solid skater and a very good shot from the point. Sometime caught deep in the offensive zone.
Won five straight Italian league titles with HC Milano. Was selected as the best defenseman at the 1998 U-18 EJC-B championships.
Also selected as the best defenseman at the 2011 D1A World Championships.
Had the best plus/minus in the 2009 D1B World Championship tournament.
He had hoped to take part in a 20th and last World Championship tournament, but the coronavirus pandemia prevented him to do so : he announced his retirement in March 2020.

Défenseur à l'esprit offensif avec un gabarit et un physique de haut niveau (188 cm, 93 kg). Fort dans les bandes et jamais avare de grosses mises en échec.
Patineur solide avec un très bon lancer de la ligne bleue. S'avance parfois un peu trop profondément en zone offensive.
Champion d'Italie cinq années de suite avec le HC Milan entre 2002 et 2006.
Meilleur défenseur du championnat d'Europe B des moins de 18 ans en 1998, et du Mondial D1A en 2011.
Meilleur ratio +/- du Mondial de division I, groupe B, en 2009.
Il avait espéré jouer un vingtième et dernier championnat du monde (toutes divisions confondues) en 2020, mais la fin de saison prématurée due à la pandémie de coronavirus l'en empêcha : il annonça sa retraite en mars.
