Big, smart player and a fine two-way player who often sacrificed himself to help out.
Was a long time player for LTC Praha, one of the premier European clubs in the 1930s.
Represented Czechoslovakia 54 times (16 goals).
Moved to defense in later years. Also an excellent football player.
Very popular as a coach in the 1940s where he was good at teaching all the fundamentals and tricks to younger players.
Emigrated from Czechoslovakia when the communists took over in 1948.
His year of death is often wrongly given as 1966 or 1968.
Inducted into the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame.

Grand joueur, intelligent et bon en attaque et en défense. Il se sacrifiait souvent pour aider.
Fut longtemps joueur du LTC Prague, l’un des grands clubs européens dans les années 1930.
54 sélections avec la Tchécoslovaquie (16 buts).
Devenu défenseur sur le tard. Également un excellent joueur de football.
Entraîneur très populaire dans les années 1940 car il savait bien enseigner tous les fondamentaux et les astuces aux jeunes joueurs.
Il a émigré de Tchécoslovaquie lors de la prise de pouvoir des communistes en 1948.
Sa mort est souvent incorrectement située en 1966 ou 1968.
Introduit au Temple de la renommée du hockey tchèque.
