A hulking defenseman at 6'4" and 215 lbs. Deemed as a talented long-term project when he was NHL-drafted in the early 1990s.
Had good puck handling skills and was a capable offensive minded defenseman.
Had some flaws in his own zone. Didn’t mind to play physical, but wasn’t always effective in that role.
Never panned out to be more than a minor league player in North America with a brief spell in the NHL that included a serious shoulder injury.
Scored 211 career points (45+166) in 380 IHL games, and 46 points in 75 playoffs games. His scoring stats were far lower in his European career.
Father of three daughters. Retired in 2013. Worked as an assistant coach in the KHL later on.

Imposant défenseur de 1m93 et 97kg, considéré comme un projet à long terme quand il fut drafté en NHL au onzième tour en 1992.
Défenseur offensif avec un bon maniement du palet, mais quelques carences dans sa propre zone.
Il n'avait pas peur de jouer physique, mais n'était pas très efficace dans ce rôle.
Il n'a jamais dépassé le rôle de joueur de ligue mineure en Amérique du Nord, son bref passage en NHL (1 assistance en 11 parties avec les Penguins de Pittsburgh) lui ayant valu une grave blessure à l'épaule.
Il a tout de même marqué 211 points (45+166) en 380 matches d'IHL, et 46 points en 75 matches des play-offs. Ses statistiques offensives furent bien moins flatteuses en Europe.
Père de trois filles. Retraité en 2013, devenu assistant-coach en KHL. Il a quitté son employeur russe - le Metallurg Magnitogorsk - après le déclenchement de la guerre en Ukraine mais est retourné travailler en KHL six mois plus tard pour un employeur chinois (le Kunlun Red Star).
