Put on his first skates on a frozen lake at 2. Born from a Russian father and a Russian-speaking Latvian mother. Bilingual. His maternal grandfather passed his love for ice hockey on him.
Player with power forward size but more of a high-skill type of player. Not overly abrasive. Willing to get his nose dirty along the boards and in the corners. Ability to finish checks. Not standing out in any area.
Came to North America in 2010. Attended NHL training camps with Philadelphia Flyers and San José Sharks to get a contract despite he was not drafted. Played four years in the AHL (40 goals and 42 assists in 247 games) - and a year in the KHL in-between (8 points in 47 games) - before heading to Dornbirn (Austria, 2020-2022) and Bordeaux (France).

Il a chaussé ses premiers patins sur un lac gelé à 2 ans. Né d'un père russe et d'une mère lettone russophone, il est bilingue letton/russe. C'est son grand-père maternel qui lui a transmis sa passion du hockey.
Taillé comme un attaquant offensif percutant, il aime batailler le long des balustrades et aller au bout de ses mises en échec, sans pour autant ne miser que sur le côté abrasif du jeu. Complet, sans défaut ni don exceptionnel.
Passé dans le junior majeur québécois à Blanville de 2012 à 2015 (avec une dernière saison à 100 points), il n'est pas drafté mais participe à des camps de présaison des Flyers de Philadelphie et des Sharks de San José. Il passe quatre saisos en AHL (40 buts et 42 assists en 247 parties) entrecoupées d'une saison en KHL (8 points en 46 matches) - en espérant percer. Il décide ensuite de partir jouer en Autriche (Dornbirn 2020-2022) et en France (Bordeaux).
