Son of Jari Korpisalo, a former forward, he wanted to become a goaltender despite his father's wishes.
Very good size (190cm/ 6-3). Talented athlete and a solid puck-stopper. Very cool in the crease. Covering the net well and smooth laterally.
In 2015/16 he made a great debut in NHL with Columbus when Sergei Bobrovsky got injured and won the Calder Cup (AHL) with the farm team (Lake Erie Monsters).

Fils de Jari Korpisalo, ancien attaquant international finlandais, il a choisi le poste de gardien au grand dam de son père.
Ce très grand gardien de 1m90m est un dernier rempart fiable et solide. Peu de rebonds, large envergure et des mouvements latéraux fluides.
En 2015/16 il a fait d'excellents débuts en NHL avec Columbus quand Sergei Bobrovsky s'est blessé puis a gagné la Coupe Calder d'AHL avec l'équipe-ferme (les Monsters du Lac Érié).
