Younger brother of Andrei Kostitsyn. Very creative winger. Good technique and a reliable finisher and point producer.
Questionable attitude and work ethic. Made headlines in 2009 together with his brother for their involvement with a well-known Montreal gangster.
In February 2019, he had to stop because of back problems and had cervical surgery. After 709 days without a game he could play again in January 2021.

Petit frère d'Andrei Kostitsyn, il a suivi sa carrière de joueur doué et insupportable. Sur la glace, il est lui aussi un ailier vif-argent, technique et pointeur régulier. Mais il est également pénible, individualiste et fainéant quand les choses ne tournent pas en sa faveur.
Impliqué comme Andrei dans "l'affaire du gang de Montréal" (voir la fiche de son frère).
En février 2019, il a dû s'arrêter pour des problèmes de dos et a été opéré des cervicales. Après 709 jours de pause, il est revenu au jeu fin janvier 2021.
