Robert Kristan

Kristan, Robert ("Lix")

Position : G

04-04-1983 Jesenice, YUG (SLO)

Youth team / club formateur : HK Jesenice

Hardworking and athletic goaltender. His father was a goalie in the Yugoslavian league. Inherited the nickname "Lix" from his father.
First played hockey at the age of four. Started out as a forward, then defenseman. Moved to Canada at the age of 14 and played two years of junior hockey there. Won four Slovenian league titles.
Near the end of the 2012/13 season, which ultimately was his last with HK Medveščak in Zagreb, he showed up to a morning workout intoxicated, the incident received a lot of attention in the media, and he apologized but wasn’t too happy that his coaches went out with the story publicly.
Came back to ice hockey after one year off (2016/17) because he wanted to play a third Olympic tournament in 2018 but three other goalies were selected.
Announced his retirement on May 22, 2018. Became project manager for NBA player Luka Dončić's brand LD7.
