Played with CIS (former Soviet Union) Under-16 Team in Savsjö tournament 1992 and was the best scorer of the team with 5 goals.
Left Dynamo Kharkov for Tikhonov's CSKA Moscow the next summer. Best scorer of Team Ukraine (3+1) in their first-ever appearance in elite-level World Junior Championships.
Drafted by the New York Rangers in 1994. Played his two last junior years in Chicoutimi and Val d'Or (QJMHL) before going back to Russia.
Played his first game for Ukrainian national team on April 9, 1998 in Tychy, Poland.
His first World Championships ended with an injury : he was taken off the ice on a stretcher vs Latvia because he had crashed head-first into the boards.
After a second North American stint in the UHL in 2001/02, his pro career stopped for a long while.
Was 183 cm tall. Weighed 86 kg in his younger years, and 100 kg when he came back on ice with Vityaz Kharkov at 39. Retired at 40 and coached his team during the last months of the season.

Il a quitté le Dynamo Kharkov pour le CSKA Moscou de Tikhonov l'été suivant. Meilleur marqueur de l'Ukraine (3+1) dans sa toute première apparition au Mondial junior élite.
Drafté par les New York Rangers en 1994. Il a passé ses deux dernières années juniors en LHJMQ, à Chicoutimi et à Val d'Or, avant de retourner à Moscou.
Il a joué son premier match en équipe natiopnale d'Ukraine le 9 avril 1998 à Tychy (Pologne).
Évacué sur civière contre la Lettonie après avoir percuté la balustrade tête la première. Son premier Mondial s'acheva sur cette blessure cervicale.
Après un second passage en Amérique du nord en UHL en 2001/02, sa carrière professionnelle s'interrompit pendant longtemps.
Il mesurait 1m83. Il pesait 86 kg dans ses jeunes années, et 100 kg quand il revint sur la glace avec le Vityaz Kharkov à 39 ans. Retraité à 40 ans pour devenir coach de son équipe pour la fin de saison.
