Younger brother of Peter Loob. His three brothers all played hockey as well.
His paternal grandfather, grandmother and their four children, including his father, left Estonia in 1944 (WW II) when Estonia was occupied by the Russians.
Relatively small player, speedy with good scoring touch around the goal.
Accurate shot. Made his senior debut as a 15-year old.
Was the first Swedish player to reach the 50 goal plateau in one NHL season.
Top goal and point scorer four times in the Swedish Elite League.
Top goal scorer five times and top scorer three times in the playoffs.
Was an Olympic All-Star in 1992. Represented Sweden 133 times.
Scored 1284 (662+622) career points in 1212 games.
Retired in 1996 and eventually became Färjestad general manager.
Member of the "Triple Gold Club" (WC 1987 & 1991, Stanley Cup 1989 and Olympic champion 1994).
Inducted into the Swedish and IIHF Hockey Hall of Fame.

Frère cadet de Peter Loob. Ses trois frères jouaient également au hockey.
Sa famille paternelle a quitté l'Estonie en 1944 (durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale) quand ce pays fut occupé par les Russes.
Joueur plutôt petit, rapide avec un bon toucher devant la cage.
Un lancer efficace. Il fit ses débuts en senior à 15 ans.
Il fut le premier Suédois à atteindre le seuil des 50 buts en une saison de NHL.
Quatre fois meilleur buteur et marqueur du championnat suédois.
Cinq fois meilleur buteur et trois fois meilleur marqueur des playoffs.
Joueur étoile des JO de 1992. 133 sélections en équipe de Suède.
Retraité en 1996, devenu le directeur général du club de Färjestad.
L'un des premiers joueurs réussis à avoir réussi le triplé Mondiaux (1987, 1991), Coupe Stanley (1989) et JO (1994).
Intronisé aux Halls of Fame de l'IIHF et du hockey suédois.
429 points (193+236) en 450 parties de saison régulière de NHL.
