Very good skater who had excellent anticipation and was strong on his skates.
Known to have a heavy shot. Had good leadership qualities.
He was an aspiring teacher who played hockey at Boston Tech and Bowdoin College before turning pro, becoming the first player from South Boston to play in the NHL.
Retired in 1982. Returned to Boston with his wife, a former model and got a job in the mayor's office.

S'est découvert une vocation de hockeyeur pro alors qu'il suivait un cursus d'enseignant. Premier joueur de Boston South, historiquement le quartier populaire irlandais, à percer en NHL.
Sa carrière achevée en 1982, il s'est réinstallé à Boston avec son épouse, une ancienne mannequin, et fut embauché à la mairie.
61 points marqués (31+30) en 146 parties de saison régulière de NHL.
