Toronto native who played his minor hockey in the Toronto League up to midget level and then in the Metro Toronto League. He continued playing with Stratford and Oshawa before embarking on a professional career.
He finished his playing career with Whitby Dunlops, spending his last six seasons there, culminating with two Allan Cups and one World Championship title.
He was almost a point-per-game player during his career, scoring 591 (224+367) points in 678 games. Known for having good leadership qualities. Retired in 1960.

Enfant de Toronto, il y a fait ses dents de hockeyeur jusqu'à 18 ans, avant d'entrer dans la Metro Toronto League, sorte de championnat municipal. Il a poursuivi son chemin dans les villes voisines de Stratford et Oshawa avant de tenter l'aventure du professionnalisme.
Sa carrière s'est achevée en 1960 après six saisons aux Whitby Dunlops, toujours dans l'Etat de l'Ontario. À la clé, deux Coupes Allan et un titre de champion du monde en 1958.
Joueur dominant au rendement d'un point par match ou presque (591, 224+367, en 678 parties).
