Grew up in Willowdale section of Toronto. Solid player for many years and a dependable point producer. Had deceptive speed and hustled for every puck.
Played in Toronto for many years and played on a line with Laurie Boschman and Rocky Saganiuk. Later played on a dangerous scoring line with Bill Derlago and Rick Vaive.
Just after his NHL career he had a short stint in Europe in 1990/91 when he played for Milano (Italy) and Chur (Swiss B league). During his third game in Switzerland club president Thomas Domenig was so disappointed by his play that he came in the locker room after the second period to fire him immediately.
Went to play in the North American minor leagues. Became the AHL MVP at the age of 35 in 1991/92.
Owned John Anderson's Hamburger Restaurant chain in Toronto suburbs during his playing days. Became a hockey coach after his playing days were over.

Joueur fiable et prolifique en points. Rapide et rageur, il n'abandonnait jamais un palet.
Il a grandi dans le quartier de Willowdale à Toronto et a joué dans sa ville en junior (Toronto Marlboros) puis dans la grande NHL, chez les Maple Leafs. Aligné avec Laurie Boschman et Rocky Saganiuk, puis plus tard dans sa carrière sur un trio redoutable aux côtés de Bill Derlago et Rick Vaive.
À la fin de sa carrière NHL en 1989 il a brièvement joué en Europe, à Milan puis à Coire en ligue B suisse. Lors de son troisième match sur les patinoires helvétiques, le président de Coire - Thomas Domenig - fit irruption dans le vestiaire après la deuxième période pour le virer sur-le-champ.
Il retourna en Amérique du Nord pour jouer en ligues mineures et fut élu MVP de l'AHL à 35 ans.
Propriétaire d'une chaîne de restaurant de burgers portant son nom, il s'est recyclé en tant qu'entraîneur en IHL, AHL et NHL, souvent dans le rôle principal, parfois sous la casquette d'assistant.
