Was of noble ancestry (family name Melléthei), tracing back 17 generations and the year 1226.
Strong skating player. Began playing bandy hockey before the game with a puck appeared in Hungary.
He was a tall player (188 cm / 6’2”) and spent his entire career with BKE Budapest.
Was a doctor. Also played as a left wing. Retired in 1933 and became an international hockey referee.
Aside from Hungarian he was also fluent in English and German.
He married an American woman (Gertrude) from Columbia, Tennessee in 1932.
They eventually moved to Litchfield, Connecticut where he worked as a salesman with cars.
He went under the name of “Frederick Barna” after he moved to the USA.
Barna gained American citizenship but moved back to Europe in the early 1950s.
Died of heart failure, coronary thrombosis, and is buried at the municipal cemetery in Kitzbühel.

Il avait des ancêtres nobles (de nom de famille Melléthei), qui remontent sur 17 générations jusqu'en 1226.
Ce joueur au patinage puissant a commencé à jouer au bandy avant que le jeu avec palet n'apparraisse en Hongrie.
Joueur de grande taille (188 cm) qui a passé toute sa carrière au BKE Budapest. Il était docteur.
Il a également joué sur l'aile gauche. Retraité en 1933 et devenu arbitre international de hockey.
En plus du hongrois, il parlait couramment anglais et allemand.
Il a épousé en 1932 une Américaine, Gertrude, de Columbia dans le Tennessee.
Ils ont finalement déménagé à Litchfield (Connecticut) où il a travaillé comme vendeur de voitures.
Il a pris le nom de "Frederick Barna" après son installation aux États-Unis.
Barna a pris la citoyenneté américaine mais est rentré en Europe au début des années 1950.
Il est mort d'un infarctus dû à une thrombose coronaire et est enterré au cimetière municipal de Kitzbühel.
