Solid player who gave a complete effort on each shift. A stay-at-home defenseman.
Hard worker in front of the net and was quite efficient at clearing the crease.
Used his sizeable frame to pound and poke at his opponents. Consistently finished checks.
Relied a lot on positional play and anticipation. Legendary practical joker. Regarded as one of the funniest players around, always cracking people up with his witty remarks.
Retired in 2004 and became an NHL scout, assistant coach and director of player personnel, being an integral part of helping Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup in 2011. Became a general manager in the NHL 2012.

Joueur solide qui donnait un effort total dans tous ses temps de jeu. Un défenseur qui restait dans sa zone.
Grand travailleur devant sa cage et plutôt efficace pour écarter le danger.
Il utilisait son gabarit avantageux pour mettre une grosse pression sur ses adversaires. Il terminait constamment ses charges.
Il s'appuyait beaucoup sur le jeu de position et son anticipation. Considéré comme l'un des joueurs les plus drôles, il amuse tout le monde avec ses remarques pleines d'esprit.
Retraité en 2004, il devint recruteur NHL, assistant coach et directeur de jeu, il fut partie intégrante de la Coupe Stanley remportée par les Blackhawks de Chicago en 2011. Il devint manager général NHL en 2012.
