He was the son of Ludger and Celina (Vaillaincourt) Berube.
His father was a French-Canadian born and raised in the Québec province.
Laurier was always went by the name ``Larry'' ou ``Gazoo''.
Was accomplished athlete and avid sports follower. Also an All-Star football player.
Enlisted in the U.S. Navy 1942 and was wounded in action.
His fondest memories were of his days on the Bates Manufacturing Hockey Team, where he represented the U.S. in Europe in 1951.
Moved to East Hartford, CT in the late 1950's and lived there until his death.
Worked for Pratt and Whitney until retiring in 1981, also worked for the East Hartford School System as a popular bus driver.
Used to keep his teammates in good spirits with his easygoing attitude and humour.
Passed away of Cancer at the Mediplex of Wethersfield nursing home. Known to have been huge Hartford Whalers fan right up until his death.

Il était le fils de Ludger et Celina (Vaillaincourt) Berube.
Son père était un Canadien francophone qui a grandi dans la province du Québec.
Laurier était toujours connu sous le nom de "Larry" ou "Gazoo". .
Il était un athlète complet et un suiveur assidu de sports. Il était également un joueur étoile de football américain.
Enrôlé dans l'U.S. Navy 1942 et fut blessé durant les combats.
Ses plus beaux souvenirs dataient de ses jours passés avec l'équipe de hockey de Bates Manufacturing, où il a représenté les États-Unis en Europe en 1951.
Il est parti à East Hartford, dans le Connecticut, à la fin des années 1950 et y a vécu jusqu'à sa mort.
Il a travaillé pour la société Pratt and Whitney jusqu'à sa retraite en 1981, il a également travaillé pour le groupe scolaire d'East Hartford où il était un populaire chauffeur de bus.
En tant que joueur, il essayait d'insuffler un bon état d'esprit chez ses coéquipiers par une attitude avenante et par son humour.
Il est décédé d'un cancer à la maison de repos du Mediplex de Wethersfield. Il était connu pour être un fan absolu des Hartford Whalers jusqu'à sa mort.
