Born in Veľká Poľana but grew up in Humenné. Son of a Greek-Catholic priest.
Very technical player with a good feeling for the game.
Played for SK Slávia Prešov and won the league championship with them in 1932.
In 1941 he led his team to a win in the Tatranský Pohár, the second oldest club tournament in Europe. He was also chosen as the tournament MVP. Represented Slovakia three times.
Was also an excellent football player who played both in Slovakia and Hungary.
Played league football until 1944 and was an active footballer to 1947.
Retired from hockey in 1948. Became a popular football coach. Worked in a textile shop.

Il est né à Veľká Poľana mais a grandi à Humenné. Fils d'un prêtre gréco-catholique.
Joueur très technique avec un bon sens du jeu.
Il a joué au SK Slávia Prešov et y a remporté le titre de champion en 1932.
En 1941 il a conduit son équipe à la victoire à la Tatranský Pohár, le deuxième plus ancien tournoi de club. Il fut également désigné meilleur joueur du tournoi. Sélectionné trois fois avec la Slovaquie.
Il fut également un excellent footballeur qui a évolué en Slovaquie et en Hongrie.
Il a joué au football de compétition jusqu'en 1944 et fut encore actif dans ce sport jusqu'en 1947.
Retraité du hockey en 1948. Il devint un célèbre entraîneur de football. Il travaillait dans un magasin de textiles.
