Born in the metropolitan area of Lublin, Moscow to a large family.
Already began chasing a ball as a three year old kid.
In the beginning it seemed that he was destined to become a great football player, winning scoring titles in the Moscow region.
He gave ice hockey a try just for fun and thought it would be practical to play hockey in the winters and football in the summers.
Soon it was clear that he was a natural talent as his skating was smooth and on top of that he was a hard worker, something the coaches appreciated.
Two greats, Vsevolod Bobrov and Anatoli Tarasov, tried to convince him to switch to hockey. Blinov was 17 and said that he still prefered football.
It wasn’t until Tarasov personally persuaded Blinov at his home for a long time that Blinov made the switch to hockey permanently.
Played 236 league games, scoring 119 goals and won five league titles with the Army club CSKA Moscow.
Played alongside many different line combinations, including three years with Boris Mikhailov and Vladimir Petrov.
Represented Soviet Union 37 times (23 goals).
Was a hockey coach in Murmansk during the late 1990s.
Inducted into the Russian Hockey Hall of Fame.

Il est né dans l'aire métropolitaine de Lublin, à Moscou, dans une grande famille.
Il a d'abord commencé par taper dans un ballon quand il avait trois ans.
Il semblait prédestiné à une grande carrière de footballeur, remportant de nombreux titres (y compris personnels) dans la région de Moscou.
Il a simplement essayé le hockey sur glace pour le plaisir, et a juste pensé à pratiquer un peu le hockey en hiver et le football en été.
Très vite il fut clair qu'il possédait un talent naturel tant son patinage était fluide et en plus de cela c'était un grand travailleur, ce qui fut apprécié par ses entraîneurs.
Deux géants du hockey, Vsevolod Bobrov et Anatoli Tarasov, ont essayé de le convaincre de passer uniquement en hockey. Blinov avait 17 ans et disait toujours préférer le football.
Il a fallu que Tarasov aille personnellement chez Blinov à plusieurs reprises pour que celui-ci décide finalement d'opter pour le hockey de manière permanente.
Il a joué 236 matchs de championnat, inscrivant 119 buts et remportant cinq titres avec le club militaire du CSKA Moscou.
Il a connu de nombreux alignements différents tout au long de sa carrière, jouant notamment trois ans aux côtés de Boris Mikhailov et Vladimir Petrov.
Il a porté le maillot de l'URSS 37 fois (23 buts).
Il fut entraîneur de hockey à Mourmansk à la fin des années 1990.
Intronisé au Russian Hockey Hall of Fame.
