Played just one period in the NHL. Hull/Ottawa loaned Cyr to Montreal and when starter Claude Pronovost surrendered five goals to the Toronto Maple Leafs through two periods on March 19th, 1959, Cyr came in to start the third and gave up just one goal the rest of the way.
Won the Memorial Cup in 1958, World Championships 1961 and the Allan Cup in 1965 and 1967. Attended Philadelphia Flyers training camp in 1968 and retired shortly after that.
Passed away of pneumonia at the tender age of 32.

Un tout petit tiers-temps de NHL à son actif, le 19 mars 1959 contre les Maple Leafs. En l'occurrence, Hull/Ottawa l'avait prêté aux Canadiens de Montréal et quand Claude Pronovost concéda cinq buts en deux périodes, Cyr entra en jeu et n'en laissa passer qu'un seul jusqu'au buzzer.
Vainqueur de la Coupe Memorial in 1958, du Mondial 1961 et de la Coupe Allan en 1965 puis en 1967. Fut invité à un camp d'entraînement des Flyers de Philadelphie en 1968, sans suite.
Prit sa retraite peu après. Mort d'une pneumonie à 32 ans.
