Defenceman who sacrificed his own body to block shots.
Debuted with East German national team at 18 on September 25, 1964 vs Sweden.
He joined SC Dynamo Berlin in 1970 when all non-Dynamo clubs were forced to abandon top-level. He played there during four seasons before his retirement and scored four goals and three assists in 31 games in the two-team league.
Represented East Germany 37 times. Scored 3 points (1+2).
