The name Domenichelli came from his Italian great-grandfather. His mother is from Ukraine. Hnat is the Ukrainian forename for Harry.
Represented Canada at the 1996 World Junior Championships. Obtained a Swiss passport in 2009 after having married to a Swiss.
Primarily a centre, but could play on any forward position.
Developed into a solid two-way player with good stick- and puck-handling.
Reliable point producer in the Swiss league (481 points in 442 NLA games).
Neither very big or strong which meant he had limited success in the NHL.
Announced his retirement on March 24, 2014. Became Lugano GM from 2019 to January 2024.
His sons Leonardo and Alessandro played for Swiss national junior teams.

Il a représenté le Canada aux championnats du monde juniors 1996. Naturalisé suisse en 2009 après avoir épousé une Suissesse.
Principalement centre même s'il pouvait jouer aux deux ailes. Fiable dans les deux sens de glace.
Bonne technique de crosse. Son manque de gabarit et de force a limité ses succès en NHL.
Il a annoncé sa retraite le 24 mars 2014. Manager général de Lugano de 2019 à janvier 2024.
Ses fils Leonardo et Alessandro ont joué pour les équipes nationales suisses de jeune
113 points (52+61) en 267 parties de NHL. 481 points en 442 parties de LNA.
