Weaker in his defensive end, but a hard worker during workouts.
Began his playing career in IK Sturehov in Örebro.
In 1969 he shifted to IFK Lindesberg before coming to Brynäs IF in 1972.
Top scorer in the Swedish Elite League 1975/76.
Later changed his last name to Ridderström. Represented Sweden 75 times.
Educated at Handelshögskolan (Stockholm School of Economics) and went on to work as chief of economics for a consulting firm, Swedish ICT Research AB.
