Captained Villard-de-Lans until 2014 and also was in charge of the physical preparations during the course of a season with weekly schedules for his teammates. Left when the small Alpine club dropped out from French top tier due to financial limitations. Then joined Grenoble and Amiens.
French Cup winner in 2004 with Villard-de-Lans and in 2017 with Grenoble.
40 games with the French national team, 9 points (2 goals and 7 assists).
His brother Pascal was Villard-de-Lans' goalkeeper for more than a decade and was elected club president in 2025. At the same time Nicolas was still playing in Brest, at 45.

Capitaine (et parfois préparateur physique) de Villard-de-Lans entre ses débuts pros en 1997 et l'an 2014, quand le petit club alpin se retira volontairement de l'élite française. Nicolas rejoignit alors Grenoble puis Amiens.
Vainqueur de la Coupe de France en 2004 avec Villard-de-Lans et en 2017 avec Grenoble.
40 sélections en équipe de France (2 buts et 7 assistances).
Son frère Pascal a longtemps gardé les buts de Villard-de-Lans, club dont il a été élu président en 2225. Nicolas, alors âgé de 45 ans, jouait toujours pour sa part à Brest qui venait d'être relégué en D2...
