Not a very big defenseman but excelled at delivering clean and hard old school bodychecks to the delight of fans and teammates. However, he was prone on making simple mistakes.
In Poland he played his entire career for Polonia Bydgoszcz between 1964 and 1979. Scored 68 goals in 507 league games. Represented Poland 78 times (5 goals).
Also a good cyclist in his younger days. He moved to New York with his family in 1979 and decided to make one more try as a player. He was on the New York Rangers training camp but didn’t make the final cut, finishing his career with the Richmond Rifles in the EHL 1979/80.
Was booked on the March 13, 1980 LOT Polish Airlines Flight 007 from New York to Warsaw, but cancelled the flight because of Richmond playing in the playoffs. That flight crashed near Okęcie Airport in Warsaw, killing all 87 onboard. For political reasons he never returned to Poland and settled down in Sweden. There he worked as a hockey coach and owned a restaurant.
When his mother died he went to the Polish embassy in Stockholm trying to get an entry visa so that he could attend her funeral. Seen as a defector his application was denied. Feter literally almost threw the consul out of the window and had to be escorted out in handcuffs by the Swedish police. They understood his situation and released him without any further hassle. Moved back to Poland after 34 years living abroad.

Pas très épais pour un défenseur et pourtant, il délivrait de sérieuses mises en échec de facture classique, appréciées des supporters et des équipiers. Emmené par son enthousiasme, il pouvait faire des erreurs évitables.
A passé toute la période polonaise de sa carrière au Polonia Bydgoszcz, soit quinze ans entre 1964 et 1979. 68 buts en 507 matches de championnat, puis 78 sélections nationales (5 buts) en équipe nationale polonaise.
Également bon en cyclisme dans sa jeunesse. En 1979, il tenta l'aventure aux États-Unis avec sa famille. À New York en l'occurrence, où il espérait décrocher un contrat. Participa à un camp d'entraînement des New York Rangers mais se retrouva en EHL, sous le maillot des Richmond Rifles.
Son retour au pays était programmé le 13 mars 1980 sur le vol 007 de la LOT Polish Airlines entre New York et Varsovie. Feter et sa famille n'embarquèrent pas car les Rifles s'étaient qualifiés en playoffs. Stupeur quand on apprit que l'avion s'écrasa à l'approche de l'aéroport Okęcie de Varsovie, un accident dont aucun des 87 passagers ne survécut. Feter renonça à retourner en Pologne et s'installa en Suède, où il ouvrit un restaurant et enseigna le hockey.
À la mort de sa mère, il tenta d'obtenir un visa auprès de l'ambassade de Pologne à Stockholm afin d'assister à l'enterrement. La dictature encore en place à Varsovie, le considérant comme un déserteur, le lui refusa. Feter fit un tel scandale à l'ambassade que la police suédoise dut intervenir et le sortir du bâtiment menottes aux poignets. Les autorités suédoises, comprenant sa situation, ne retinrent aucune charge contre lui. Feter finit par retourner au pays en 2013.
