Big-sized goaltender (189 cm, 91 kg) who catches the puck with the right hand.
Joined Polish league in 2016 and playing two years in Jastrzębie before spending one year between Žilina, Slovakia, and Hull, England.
When he was playing in Gdańsk (2019/20) he met local hockey player Aneta Błaszak and married her in May 2023.
The pair settled in Havířov, Czech Republic, where Aneta worked in the local hospital. Her husband crossed the Polish border to play for GKS Tychy.
When he prepared the documents to get a Polish passport Tomáš Fučík found out he himself had some Polish roots as his grandfather was born in Lwów (Lviv) when this city was part of Poland between world wars.
He eventually got his passport only two days before the start of 2024 World Championships, the first elite WC for Poland since twenty years.

Il rejoint le championnat de Pologne en 2016 pour deux ans à Jastrzębie avant de partager u saison entre la Slovaquie et la deuxième ligue britannique.
Pendant qu'il joue à Gdańsk (en 2019/20) il rencontre la hockeyeuse locale Aneta Błaszak, qu'il épouse en mai 2023.
Le couple s'installe en République tchèque, à Havířov, où Aneta travaille dans l'hôpital local, pendant que son mari passe la frontière pour poursuivre sa carrière polonaise de hockeyeur à Tychy.
En fournissant les documents pour sa naturalisation par mariage, Tomáš Fučík se découvre aussi des racines polonaises car son grand-père est né à Lwów (Lviv) quand cette ville faisait partie de la Pologne dans l'entre-deux-guerres.
Il obtient son passeport in extremis, deux jours avant le début des championnats du monde 2024, où la Pologne revient dans l'élite après vingt ans d'absence.
