Calm under pressure and quick to recover and backcheck after a mistake.
Agile and elusive skater who can evade coverage with his shoulder feints and changes of direction.
Excellent vision of the game. Great puck-moving defenceman on big ice and on the powerplay.
Lack of size and strength (179 cm, 76 kg) but good anticipation and stick positioning to cut passing lanes in the defensive zone.
Modeled his play on Lane Huston.
His 15 career points in the World Juniors broke a record for a Czech defenceman.

Parti de Zlín à Olomouc à 7 ans. Défenseur comme son père et son frère. Il collectionnait les cartes de hockey dans son enfance.
Calme sous la pression et toujours prompt à rattraper ses erreurs.
Patineur fluide et agile pour se défaire du marquage par ses feintes d'épaule et changements de direction.
Son excellente vision du jeu s'exprime par sa qualité de relance sur grande glace et sa distribution du jeu à la ligne bleue.
Il compense son manque de gabarit et de force (1m79, 76 kg) par son anticipation et son placement de crosse pour protéger le milieu de sa zone défensive.
Il a modelé son jeu sur celui de Lane Huston.
Ses 15 points cumulés aux Mondiaux juniors sont un record pour un défenseur tchèque.
