Started ice hockey at the age of 5. Won the German "Schüler" championship in 1970/71.
Son of EV Landshut long-time president Rudi Gandorfer. He studied civil engineering like his father.
German champion 1983. 9 games with German national team.
Played the majority of his career with EVL, except for a one-year stint in Mannheim (1984/85).
Retired in 1990. Settled on a 60 000 m² land in Untergangkofen (10 km south from Landshut) with his wife Barbara - a potter master - their three daughters and five horses. He worked there as a stress analyst before being an associate founder of a construction engineering company from 2017 (Gandorfer-Krämer =-Ingenieure PartGmbB).

Il a commencé le hockey à 5 ans. Il a gagné le championnat allemand dans la catégorie d'âge "Schüler" en 1970/71.
Fils de Rudolf Gandorfer, longtemps président de l'EV Landshut. Il a fait des études pour devenir ingénieur en génie civil comme son père.
9 sélections en équipe d'Allemagne. Champion d'Allemagne 1983.
A joué le plus gros de sa carrière avec l’EVL, sauf un an à Mannheim (1984/85).
Retraité en 1990, il s'installe sur un terrain de 60 000 m² à Untergangkofen (à 10 km au sud de Landshut) avec sa femme Barbara, leurs trois filles et cinq chevaux. Il travaille comme ingénieur structures avant de fonder en 2017 un bureau d'études dans la construction (Gandorfer-Krämer-Ingenieure PartGmbB). Son bureau se situe la porte à côté de l'atelier de son épouse, qui est maître potière.
