Tall and broadshouldered blueliner. Educated in Chur. First captain of Zürcher SC.
Very physical defenseman who loved to use all of his weight and size when laying out hits. Imposing presence both on and off the ice.
Also tried playing as a goalie. Listed as the goaltender at the 1924 European Championships but did not play.
An excellent athlete who represented Switzerland in three sports, ice hockey, boxing and bobsleigh. Won an Olympic gold medal in bob 1936 (four-man event). He also won a silver medal at the 1935 bobsled World Championships.
Participated in the 1957 luge World Championships at the age of 52.
Also an excellent gymnast. Two of his sons also became Olympic athletes.
Worked as a bank clerk. Later owned the movie theater “Scala” in St.Moritz.

Défenseur grand et large d’épaules, éduqué à Coire. Premier capitaine du Zurich SC.
Très physique qui aimait utiliser tout son poids et sa taille lors des chocs. Présence imposante sur et hors de la glace.
Il a aussi essayé d’être gardien.Listé comme gardien au championnat d'Europe 1924, il n'a pas joué.
Un très bon athlète qui a représenté la Suisse en hockey sur glace, boxe et bobsleigh. Médaillé d’or olympique en bob à quatre en 1936 et médaillé d’argent aux Championnats du monde de bobsleigh 1935.
Il a participé aux Championnats du monde de luge en 1957, à l’âge de 52 ans.
Excellent gymnaste. Deux de ses enfants ont été aussi été athlètes olympiques.
Il a travaillé dans une banque et fut ensuite propriétaire du cinéma "Scala" à Saint Moritz.
