He studied law at the Royal Hungarian Franz Joseph University in Szeged. He continued his studies in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Worked for Magyar Posta and as a chief officer for Magyar Távbeszélőközpont (Telephone).
Could also play on defense. Finished his playing career in Montchoisi, Switzerland 1946/47.
Moved to Argentina in 1948 where he worked for Smooth Acero SA as a sales chief.
He tried to popularize the sport in Buenos Aires in the 1950s.
When that failed he concentrated set his sights on Argentine field hockey, both playing and coaching the national team.
He achieved international success in field hockey.
Gosztonyi was very popular and known for his sharp and sarcastic humour.
He passed away after a long illness. Named Goszleth in later years.

Il a étudié le droit à l’université royale François-Joseph à Szeged. Il continua ses études à Lausanne en Suisse.
Il a travaillé pour la poste hongroise et comme officier en chef à la téléphonie hongroise.
Pouvait aussi jouer en défense. Il a fini sa carrière de joueur à Montchoisi en Suisse (1946-47).
Il a déménagé en Argentine en 1948 où il a travaillé pour Smooth Acero SA comme chef de ventes.
Il a essayé de populariser le hockey sur glace à Buenos Aires dans les années 1950.
Comme ce projet a échoué, il se concentra sur le hockey sur gazon argentin, jouant et entraînant l’équipe nationale.
Il obtient des succès internationaux en hockey sur gazon.
Gosztonyi fut vraiment populaire et connu pour son humour sarcastique.
Il décéda des suites d’une longue maladie. Nommé aussi Goszleth après avoir quitté la Hongrie.
