Like many kids in Norway he grew up playing football during the summers and ice hockey in the winters. Primarily known to be a great football player who played professionally in Italy for Verona in 1957/58 and 1958/59. Was a three time league winner with Skeid in football.
In ice hockey he played for Templar as a junior in the late 1940s. In 1955 he was selected to represent Norway both in football and ice hockey. He chose football.
Represented Norway 10 times in football (2 goals) and 39 times in ice hockey.

Comme beaucoup d'enfants norvégiens de son époque, il était footballeur l'été et hockeyeur l'hiver, une particularité qu'il a portée fort loin puisqu'il fut en effet un footballeur très réputé, professionnel en Italie avec le Hellas Vérone (de 1957 à 1959) et champion de Norvège avec Skeid Oslo, tout en ayant amassé 10 sélections internationales, toujours en football (deux buts).
Pas mal non plus en hockey sur glace puisque, patins aux pieds, il fut 39 fois international norvégien, formé au Templar (renommé Tigrene). Opta franchement pour le football à partir de la deuxième moitié des années 50.
