Was the backup goaltender for many years both on the national team and LTC Praha.
Began playing ice hockey for TK Dustojniku in 1928.
He played there for four seasons before coming to SK Slavia Praha.
After two years in Slavia he transferred to LTC Praha.
Also played for SK Pisek early on in his career.
Represented Czechoslovakia three times.
Backup in the 1934, 1937, 1938 and 1939 World Championships.
Also considered for the 1935 World Championships when Jan Peka (first goalie) had problems with his passport. Played football, volleyball and was a good tennis player.
Retired in 1949 and then became an ice hockey coach.
Worked as an administrator and store manager in a company that sold sugar. Lost his position as manager when he traveled to London as a backup in 1937.
Passed away at the Vinohradská hospital in Prague.

Fut le gardien remplaçant pendant de nombreuses années pour l’équipe nationale et le LTC Prague.
A commencé le hockey avec le TK Dustojniku en 1928. Il y a joué trois ou quatre saisons avec d’aller au SK Slavia de Prague.
Après deux ans au Slavia, il est transféré au LTC Prague. Il a également joué au SK Pisek en début de carrière.
Trois sélections pour la Tchécoslovaquie.
Remplaçant aux Mondiaux de 1934, 1937, 1938 et 1939.
Envisagé pour les Mondiaux 1935 quand Jan Peka eut des problèmes avec son passeport.
Jouait au football, au volley-ball et était aussi bon joueur de tennis.
