The 46-year old, lanky Hutchinson played one game at the 1938 World Championships and saw only three minutes of ice time.
During that time he almost beat up Polish referee Tadeusz Sachs.
He was the coach of the American team. Born and raised in Arlington, Massachusetts.
Attended Arlington High School where he was a star center on the hockey team.
Later played for University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Was a good allround athlete who also excelled at football and baseball.
Also an orchestra leader at the university.
Used to play in New York and also coached teams. Coached the American team at the 1938 and 1939 World Championships.
Later in charge of the US National team at the 1947 World Championships.
Was also the ice hockey chairman of the US Olympic committee.
Lived in Centerville, Massachusetts.

Hutchinson, 46 ans, a joué un match aux Mondiaux de 1938 avec seulement trois minutes de temps sur la glace.
Pendant ce temps, il a failli frapper l’arbitre polonais Tadeusz Sachs.
Il était l’entraîneur de l’équipe états-unienne. Né et élevé à Arlington.
Il a fréquenté le lycée d'Arlington où il était le centre-vedette de l’équipe de hockey.
A joué ensuite pour l’Université du Massachusetts à Amherst. Athlète complet qui excellait aussi au football et au baseball.
Il dirigeait aussi l’orchestre de l’université.
A joué et entraîné à New York. Entraîneur des États-Unis aux championnats du monde de 1938 et 1939.
On lmui a aussi confié l'équipe américaine aux Mondiaux 1947. Il fut directeur du hockey sur glace au comité olympique des États-Unis.
Il a vécu à Centerville dans le Massachusetts.
