He was born in the small town of Salaspils just outside of Riga.
Physical and intimidating player, always willing to drop his gloves.
An enforcer type of player.
His physical parameters were impressive at 193 cm / 6’4” and 109 kg / 240 lbs.
He didn’t score more than 40+ goals in almost 1 000 career games as a forward.
On the other hand he picked up more than 2 300 penalty minutes along the way.
Despite his very limited skills and skating abilities, he was a hard worker. Retired in 2013.

Malgré sa technique et son patinage très limités, il était un grand travailleur. Retraité en 2013.
