Broke his neck in the early stages of the Allan Cup finals in Kelowna and then broke his arm in Prague as the finals for the 1959 World Championships got under way.
Spent the majority of his playing career in Belleville and didn’t retire until 1973. Scored more than a point-per-game in his playing career.

L'année 1959 lui fut défavorable puisqu'il se fêla la nuque au tout début du tournoi final d'Allan Cup à Kelowna. Rétabli pour les championnats du monde à Prague, il se cassa le bras dès l'entame de la compétition.
Eut tout de même une très belle carrière en amateur. Joua jusque ses 40 ans principalement dans la région de Belleville et marqua plus d'un point par match tout au long de son parcours.
