Jule Kačič came from a family of caterers, his father Karol and mother Frančiška (born Kunstler). He was one of six children. Four of them, two boys and two young girls, were heavily involved in various sports. Being among the Slovenian hockey pioneers, Jule learned how to skate in the back yard of his home, which his father watered during the winters.
With the Ljubljana based hockey club SK Ilirija, he won three consecutive titles in the Yugoslavian national championship (1939-41). In the summertime Jule competed pretty successfully as a cyclist for the Hermes cycling section together with his younger brother Roman. In 1935 for example he won a race in Maribor, where he beat out cyclists as Frank Gartner, a 1936 Olympic cyclist and August Prosenik, a 1936 & 1948 Olympic cyclist, as well as a three time Yugoslavian champion. In later years Jule began collecting antiques, especially watches.
The son of Jule became a good gymnast and performed for many years, even as a veteran.

Ses parents Karol et Frančiška (née Kunstler) travaillaient dans la restauration alimentaire et eurent six enfants dont quatre, au moins, deux garçons et deux filles, avaient un goût prononcé pour le sport. Futur pionnier du hockey slovène, Jule Kačič apprit à patiner dans le jardin derrière sa maison où son père improvisait un petit étang gelé pendant les hivers.
Bientôt, Kačič intègrera le SK Ilirija Ljubljana avec lequel il remportera trois titres de champion yougoslave consécutifs (1939-1941). L'été, il changeait de tenue et, avec son petit frère Roman, intégrait l'équipe de cyclisme du club omnisports Hermes. Avec succès ! En 1935, par exemple, il vainquit à Maribor des excellents cyclistes comme l'olympien Frank Gartner ou encore August Prosenik, lui aussi olympien (1936, 1948) et triple champion national de Yougoslavie sur route. Après avoir collectionné les titres pendant sa carrière de sportif, Jule collectionna ensuite les antiquités, des montres en particulier.
Son fils hérita de ses dons athlétiques, qu'il employa pendant très longtemps en tant que gymnaste de haut niveau, même chez les vétérans.
