As a junior he admired the play of Sergei Fedorov. Big, well-conditioned athlete. Was always willing to take punishment in front of the net. Was aggressive to the puck. Had a quick first step and a long stride. Change directions quickly and very smoothly.
Handled the puck fairly well in high gear, but prefered to jump into the openings to receive a pass for a quick shot on goal. Often tried to break through down the wing and along the boards while carrying the puck. Had a long reach and used his stick along the boards instead of taking the body. Drafted in the NHL by Toronto Maple Leafs 1996 and attended a couple of training camps with the team. Never played in the NHL but spent more than 700 games in North America. Retired in 2012.

Cet admirateur de Sergei Fedorov était un joueur aussi costaud que son modèle, d'une condition physique exemplaire et toujours prêt à se battre dans l'enclave. Patineur véloce à la longue glisse (école soviétique), il savait prendre des virages qui déroutaient ses adversaires. Combinait cette qualité avec une saine agressivité sur le palet.
Manieur de palet émérite, même à pleine vitesse, autant capable de repiquer au but depuis les bandes en possession du palet, que d'aller au but à la canadienne pour y gratter un rebond. Joueur correct, rarement "sale" dans les duels.
Drafté par les Maple Leafs en 1996, il a participé à leurs camps d'entraînement mais ne s'est jamais imposé dans leur équipe première. En fin de compte, malgré dix ans et 700 matches en ligues mineures américaines, puis des passages au Royaume-Uni et en Italie, il n'a disputé aucun match NHL. Parti à la retraite en 2012.
