Born in Phoenix, Arizona, but grew up in Bloomfield Hills near Detroit.
His eldest brother played American football and his other two brothers played NCAA hockey before him.
Big size (188 cm, 93 kg). Dependable in his own zone. Very responsible with the puck. Good body positioning. Not a very fast skater.
A defensive-minded defenceman at junior level when he was USHL champion in 2019 with Sioux Falls. He developed his two-way ability along skilled Zach Jones during his tenure at UMass. The pair led the Minutemen to their first ever NCAA title in 2021 and they were both named on the Final Four all-star team. Refocused as a shutdown defenceman to crave his way into the NHL.

Né à Phoenix dans l'Arizona, il a grandi à Bloomfield Hills près de Détroit.
Son frère aîné a joué au football américain et les deux suivants ont pratiqué le hockey en université avant lui.
Beau gabarit (188 cm, 93 kg). Très fiable dans sa zone et responsable avec le palet. Il ne patine pas vite mais place bien son corps.
Défenseur défensif en junior quand il fut champion USHL en 2019 avec Sioux Falls, il a développé ses capacités offensives aux côtés du talentueux Zach Jones à l'université de Massachussets. Ils l'ont menée au premier titre NCAA de son histoire en 2021 et ont été tous deux élus dans l'équipe-type du tournoi final. Pour gagner sa place en NHL, il a de nouveau priorisé son rôle défensif.
