His father Géza [1861-1949] is considered to be the founder of modern Hungarian ear medicine. István grew up at a large estate in Budapest where his father had a large vineyard. István followed in his father’s medical footsteps and was his student as well.
Became a doctor and worked as a clinical professor in Budapest. Was a teacher for many American students over the years. István in fact became one of the most prestigious doctors in the country and was the personal doctor of many high ranking Hungarian politicians.

Fils de Géza Krepuska (1861-1949), considéré comme le fondateur de l'otorhinolaryngologie hongroise. István était donc issu de la haute-bourgeoisie hongroise comme beaucoup de ses compatriotes hockeyeurs de l'époque. Il passa son enfance à Budapest dans une grande propriété où son père entretenait une grande vigne, et se dirigea lui aussi vers la médecine grâce aux enseignements paternels.
En plus de sa pratique de cabinet, il fut enseignant en médecine et reçut notamment de nombreux étudiants américains. Un des spécialistes les plus réputés du pays à son époque, il prodigua ses soins à de nombreux hommes politiques hongroiss d'importance.
