One of Poland’s most versatile athletes of all time. He excelled in skiing, tennis, diving, football and ice hockey. Began playing football in 1921 and went on to represent Poland on four occasions (two goals). He scored an impressive 295 goals in 500 games.
His contributions to Łódź were so significant in sports that he had a street named after him there. He actually didn’t come to ŁKS Łódź until 1927 after previously having been a member of KS Lublinianca. It was national team player Aleksander Kowalski who discovered Król while visiting Lublinianca. He was known to be a player who sacrificed himself at all times, never afraid to join the action when it was physical. He also stepped up during key moments of the games or when things were on the line.
Represented Poland in ice hockey 15 times (7 goals). Only Łódź pre-war international player.
He retired in 1950 with Janów and went on to coach the Polish national team and also led the Łódź junior team to a title in 1953. Also coached the local football team in the 1960s.

Un des meilleurs athlètes polonais de l'histoire, surtout un des plus complets. Il était expert en ski, en tennis, en plongeon et surtout reconnu pour ses dons en hockey et en football. Il a commencé ce dernier sport à 14 ans représentera quatre fois la sélection nationale polonaise de football (deux buts).
Son talent pour le ballon rond fut découvert en 1927, quand il jouait sous le maillot du petit club du KS Lublinianka à Lublin, par Aleksander Kowalski.
Mécanicien de formation, il travailla dans l'usine aéronautique de Lublin, dans une usine textile à son arrivée à Łódź, puis dans la centrale électrique de Łódź de 1931 à 1946.
Quelle que soit la discipline, Król avait la réputation d'un athlète qui ne fuyait pas les moments difficiles et se révélait au contraire quand la tension montait.
En hockey sur glace, il compte 15 sélections pour sept buts en équipe de Pologne ; il fut le seul international en provenance de Łódź avant-guerre.
Arrête le sport de haut niveau en 1950 avec Janów, à 43 ans, et entraîne par la suite l'équipe nationale de hockey, les jeunes hockeyeurs du ŁKS Łódź (un titre national junior en 1953) mais aussi les deux clubs de football de Łódź (ŁKS et Widzew) avec un titre de champion du premier nommé en 1958.
En hommage à ses services rendus dans le champ du sport, une rue de Łódź porte son nom.
