Was 182 cm (5-11). Made smart decisions on the ice and read the play well. Was nearsighted. Began playing hockey in 1932 and first emerged as a talented player for HOVS Praha.
Had good balance on his skates, was technical and could play physical. Aside from hockey he also played tennis, football and was a cyclist.
Five-time league champion in Bohemia/Moravia or Czechoslovakia. Represented Czechoslovakia 9 times (5 goals).
He became a popular ice hockey coach. In the mid-1950’s he lectured on ice hockey in China.
Three-time Austrian champion (1965 to 1967) as Klagenfurt coach, coming back to a city he had come during the war as a forced worker (and ice hockey player).
Finished his coaching career in Chomutov and Celje (Yugoslavia) from 1971 to 1973.
He was a civil engineer. He passed away after a long illness.

Cet ailier grand (1,82m) et myope savait pourtant prendre les décisions adéquates au bon moment et lire le jeu avec précision. Formé à partir de 1932 au HOVS Prague où il s'affirme en tant que grand espoir.
Bien équilibré sur ses patins, ce technicien émérite n'avait pas peur de jouer des coudes.
5 buts en 9 sélections. Champion du monde 1947. Cinq fois champion de Bohême et Moravie ou de Tchécoslovaquie.
Il pratique aussi le tennis, le football et le cyclisme.
Devenu un entraîneur à succès, contribuant à l'éveil chinois au hockey sur glace par son enseignement dans les années 1950.
Triple champion d'Autriche (1965 à 1967) comme coach du Klagenfurter AC, un club où il avait joué pendant la guerre en étant envoyé en Autriche comme travailleur forcé.
Il finit sa carrière d'entraîneur à Chomutov puis à Celje (Yougoslavie) de 1971 à 1973.
Ingénieur en génie civil dans la vie courante, il s'éteignit à 84 ans d'une longue maladie.
