Was Canadian born (Province of Québec) and both his parents were Canadians.
Came to Madawaska, Maine in August 1922 and then to Lewiston, Maine in 1923.
He was one of 17 children, having 12 sisters and four brothers. Served in WW II.
He was pretty tall for his time, standing at 183 cm (6’) but was very thin.
Lafrance had a tattoo with initials on his wrist as a distinctive mark.
He served as the backup for USA at the 1951 World Championships, but did not dress for any of the games.

Né au Canada (au Québec) de parents canadiens.
Il arriva à Madawaska, dans le Maine en août 1922 puis à Lewiston, en 1923.
Issu d'une fratrie de 17 enfants, il avait 12 soeurs et 4 frères. Il prit part à la Seconde guerre mondiale.
Il était plutôt grand pour l'époque, mesurant 1m83, mais il était très maigre.
Lafrance portait un tatouage au poignet avec ses initiales comme signe distinctif.
Il fut gardien remplaçant à l'occasion des Mondiaux de 1951, mais ne prit part à aucune rencontre.
