Solid but unspectacular defenseman who represented Finland nine times.
Aside from hockey he was also a very good football player who earned a bronze in that sport during the 1937 national championships and a silver in 1938, 1939 and 1941.
He was one of 1400 Finnish volunteers who were members of the SS battalion that fought alongside the Germans during WW II.
He was in Sweden for a few years but returned back to Finland in March of 1946. There he worked for the Police.
In 1947/48 he appeared for two games, playing for I.CLTK Praha in Czechoslovakia.
He eventually married figure skater Kirsti Linna.

Défenseur sûr mais peu spectaculaire qui compte neuf sélections avec la Finlande.
A côté du hockey, c'était un excellent joueur de football, troisième du championnat national en 1937, et deuxième en 1938, 1939 et 1941.
Il fut l'un des 1400 volontaires finlandais qui s'engagèrent dans le bataillon SS et prirent part aux combats aux côtés des Allemands durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
Il fut en Suède pendant plusieurs années puis retourna en Finlande en mars 1946. Il travailla ensuite dans la police.
En 1947/48 il apparut à l'occasion de deux matchs, en tant que joueur du I.CLTK Prague en Tchéchoslovaquie.
Il épousa finalement la patineuse artistique Kirsti Linna.
