Born and raised in Toronto, ON.
On the other side of his street there was a public playground.
He basically lived there during the winter months.
At the age of ten, he enjoyed his first competitive and organized hockey, suiting up with the Catholic Youth League in his neighbourhood.
Later played junior hockey for the local St.Michael’s Buzzers.
Was the property of Toronto Maple Leafs but never played in the NHL.
He was one of the last cuts before the 1954/55 season.
The Leafs eventually shipped him to Springfield in December 1956 but he never reported.
Could play both as a center and left wing. Scored 479 (251+228) career points in 499 games.
Retired in 1959, meeting his wife that same year.
Got a job as an accountant (Brunton, Brunton, Browning and Day) in Sudbury, ON, from Ex-NHL’er Peanuts O’Flaherty.
Some sources have him erroneously born in Whitby, ON.

Il a grandi à Toronto. Il vivait pour ainsi dire tout l'hiver sur la patinoire publique située en face de chez lui.
À 10 ans, il rejoint sa première équipe de hockey organisé, dans la ligue locale de la jeunesse catholique.
Plus tard il joua en junior pour l'équipe des Buzzers de St.Michael’s.
Il appartenait aux Maple Leafs de Toronto mais n'a jamais joué en NHL.
Il fut l'un des derniers retranchés avant la saison 1954/55.
Les Leafs ont fini par l'envoyer à Springfield en décembre 1956 mais il ne s'y est jamais présenté.
Il pouvait jouer centre ou ailier gauche. Auteur de 479 (251+228) points en 499 parties dans sa carrière.
Retraité en 1959, il rencontra sa femme la même année.
L'ancien joueur NHL Peanuts O’Flaherty lui trouva un emploi de comptable pour Brunton, Brunton, Browning and Day) à Sudbury.
Certaines sources le disent par erreur né à Whitby.
