Older brother of Bob MacMillan.
Versatile and well-rounded player.
Strong bodychecking forward who left Prince Edward Island as a junior to play with the skilled St.Michael's College in Toronto.
Had three Memorial Cup runs in three years.
Earned a degree in Physical Education at the University of Manitoba.
Represented Canada between 1965 and 1970. Played in two World Championships and in Grenoble Olympic Games.
His best season in the NHL came when he was a rookie in 1970/71, scoring 22 goals and 41 points for Toronto Maple Leafs.
Retired as a player in 1978 and became a successful coach. Also worked as a GM.

Attaquant aux fortes mises en échec qui quitta l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard en junior pour aller jouer à l'Université St.Michael's de Toronto.
Il participa à trois coupes Memorial en trois années juniors.
Diplômé d'Éducation Physique de l'Université du Manitoba.
Il joua pour le Team Canada de 1965 à 1970, il participa à deux championnats du monde et au tournoi olympique de Grenoble.
Sa meilleure saison en NHL fut la première, en 1970/71, quand il inscrivit 22 buts et 41 points pour les Maple Leafs de Toronto.
Il prit sa retraite de joueur en 1978 et devint un entraîneur à succès. Il travailla également comme manager général.
151 points (74+77) en 446 parties de saison régulière dans la NHL.
