Puck-moving defenceman who can also take penalty shots.
One-year-older brother of Krzysztof Maciaś - and taller (188 cm, 87 kg).
Brought to ice hockey at 5 by his dad, who had played the game in his childhood.
His mother Agnieszka (née Paprocka), an English teacher, also played ice hockey in Podhale defense for 15 years.
Learnt hockey in Nowy Targ until 11 before going to Czech team Poruba along his brother.
Always competed with Krzysztof in a brotherhood rivalry. Even when they were teammates each one wanted to score more points.
A late call to 2024 World Championships when Bartosz Ciura got injured in the first game. The Maciaś became the first brothers to play together in Polish team since the Piotrowskis (and at elite WC level since Tokarz brothers who also hailed from Nowy Targ).

Défenseur offensif, habile avec le palet, qui peut aussi tirer les pénaltys.
Frère aîné d'un an de Krzysztof Maciaś, et le plus grand des deux (188 cm, 87 kg).
Amené au hockey sur glace à 5 ans par son père, qui avait pratiqué ce sport dans sa jeunesse.
Sa mère Agnieszka (née Paprocka), professeur d'anglais, joue au hockey dans la défense de Podhale pendant 15 ans.
Son premier entraîneur fut Franciszek Klocek au Podhale Nowy Targ. Parti à 11 ans en Tchéquie à Poruba quand ce club s'est intéressé à Krzysztof, qu'il a suivi et avec lequel il entretient une rivalité fraternelle. Même quand ils étaient coéquipiers c'était à celui qui marquerait le plus de points.
Appelé aux Mondiaux 2024 comme substitut de Bartosz Ciura blessé au premier match. Les Maciaś ont été les premiers frères en équipe de Pologne depuis les Piotrowski (et au niveau élite depuis les Tokarz quib étaient aussi originaires de Nowy Targ).
