Last surviving member of the original Fife Flyers.
Born in Rosemount near Blairgowrie in Scotland. Played for Perth Panthers and Perth Blackhawks.
He was one of the few Scottish players at a time when the British leagues were swamped by Canadian players.
His game-winning goal five seconds into the opening period at the 1939 World Championships will probably stand the test of time for many more years.
Joined WW II in 1940 and served almost six years in Sicily, mainland Italy, Greece, Algeria and Tunisia while being a corporal and sergeant with the 6th Battalion of the Black Watch Regiment.
Resumed his ice hockey career in 1947 but moved to Lossiemouth in 1949, finishing his playing career.
Also a good cricket player and was active in that sport well into the 1960s.
Passed away peacefully at Dr.Gray’s Hospital in Elgin. Buried at Lossiemouth Cemetery.

Son but vainqueur après cinq secondes de jeu lors du dernier match de la phase de poule des Mondiaux de 1939 restera sans nul doute dans l'histoire.

Il reprit sa carrière de hockeyeur en 1947 avant d'arrêté quand il déménagea à Lossiemouth en 1949.
Également un bon joueur de cricket, il resta actif dans ce sport jusque dans les années 1960.
Décédé paisiblement au Dr.Gray Hospital à Elgin. Enterré au cimetière de Lossiemouth.
